Esther Beyer and Mina Middleton initially began playing together as members of the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain in 2015 and 2016. However, it wasn’t until they both started at RAM that they began playing together as Equinox Duo. Since then they have had the privilege of playing in a masterclass to renowned harpist, Isabelle Perrin and have performed in concerts inside RAM as well as around England, including an evening recital for the Hambleden concert series of 2018 and an evening soiree concert for the Barnes Music Festival 2019. Thoroughly excited by contemporary music, and enjoying collaboration with composers, they have recently commissioned a piece by Royal Academy of Music postgraduate composer David Nunn, and aim to commission for pieces for the duo in the future. They are looking forward to performing an evening recital in October (postponed from July due to Covid-19) for the Richmond Concert Society with a programme focused around a second new work written for them by David Nunn.
